The Granby Zoo experienced a record season this summer.
Including the Labour Day weekend, 727,000 visitors went to Quebec’s biggest zoo during this summer season, which represents a 25 per cent increase relative to this period last year.
August 1, with 19,000 visitors, was the busiest day of the summer.
Zoo management attributes much of this success to the opening of Dinozoo Park, which features 21 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs.
Granby Zoo director Paul Gosselin said that this season’s unprecedented traffic will allow the zoo to undertake a multi-million dollar development plan that will span more than a decade.
The Granby Zoo will remain open on fall weekends until October 29.
