Woman seriously injured in rollover crash outside Cochrane

Mounties say a woman is recovering with serious injuries after her vehicle lost control just outside of Cochrane Saturday.

About 11:17 a.m., the woman was driving a vehicle into the town west of Calgary along Hwy. 1A when it lost control and rolled several times, RCMP said.

The lone occupant of a 2009 red Honda Civic, a 64-year-old Cochrane woman, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be freed by Cochrane fire crews.

According to EMS spokesman Adam Loria, the woman suffered multiple serious injuries but she was in stable, non-life threatening condition when she was airlifted to Foothills hospital in Calgary by STARS Air Ambulance.

An RCMP collision analyst is now investigating the cause of the crash and police are asking any witnesses to the incident or the moments leading up to it to contact the Cochrane detachment at 403-851-8000.
