At full time the Chilean, whose future in north London is extremely murky, made his way over to the travelling supporters who had made the 250-mile trip to the North East.
There may have still been some boos and 'Wenger Out' banners that the away side had to endure, but for once the Arsenal fans were supportive of their side.
Sanchez scored a brilliant free-kick and although Boro hit back through Alvaro Negredo, Arsene Wenger's team showed some resolve and found a winner through Mesut Ozil.

The 28-year-old is yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates and his future is unclear.
The forward, who has 23 goals now this season, has appeared unhappy for months, and has been linked with moves to Arsenal rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.
Wenger - whose own future is far from sorted - is hopeful Sanchez will stay at the Emirates, although if he has decided to leave, Wenger wants to sell him to Paris Saint-Germain rather than a Prem rival.
