NIGEL Farage has revealed he will not stand in the upcoming general election.
He told the Daily Telegraph: “I have decided that I will not stand in this election but fight for Brexit in Europe.”
Current leader Paul Nuttall said he thought Farage would stand earlier this week after the former leader said he was “tempted” to run for UKIP in Clacton after Douglas Carswell’s resignation.
Farage said: “He said: “Perhaps even more tempting is to stand in Clacton, which is now Carswell-free, and perhaps the number one Eurosceptic constituency in the country by demographics.
“It would be a very easy win and for me, a personal vindication to get into the House of Commons after all these years of standing in election.”
