Posting a picture of herself with her pal Gary Cockerill, she told her Instagram followers: “Too much fun with this one on my @cambridgeweightplan shoot.

“Isn’t just the best when you get to work with your friends?”

Martine revealed earlier this month that she decided to make a change in her life because she wanted to be healthy for her husband, Jack McManus, and their son, Rafferty, two.

She told Hello! Magzine: “Having Rafferty really did put everything into perspective.

“All those things I’d worried about all my life — the career, the weight — all seemed trivial in comparison to this little person we had created.

“Once I’d got that perspective, the rest seemed to fall into place.”

The Loose Women panellist, who has battled ME and lyme disease, added “the confidence feels more genuine” after years of low self-esteem.

The former EastEnders actress has been keeping her fans up to date with her progress every week.

She recently said: “My loss was a tiny bit slower than the average person but to be honest I expected that as many diets/food plans didn’t work for me at all, as the lyme disease and m.e. can really play havoc with how your system works.”

Martine continued: “My consultant Donna stressed that my health is the most important thing, so I took things a little more slowly whilst feeling more energised and even with my health issues I’ve still managed to do it!

“Only 5 and a half weeks and my BMI is in a much healthier range – and on my step of the plan I love that I can still have my green juices, porridge and real food.

“Give me too much choice and it's game over.”

Lyme disease - Lyme borreliosis - is a bacterial infection which is spread to humans by infected ticks.

In the early stages, sufferers can experience flu-like symptoms but these can develop into more serious complaints if not treated.

If left untreated, Lyme disease sufferers can develop much more serious symptoms including:

Serious joint pain

Nervous system pain which can lead to paralysis of facial muscles, memory problems and difficulties concentrating

Heart problems, such as inflammation of the heart muscle

Inflammation of the membranes around the brain and spinal cord as with meningitis

Within as little as several weeks, people can begin to suffer pain and issues with the nervous system. It is treated with antibiotics.

Martine's diagnosis is another medical blow for her.

In 2011, the mum-of-one, 40, was diagnosed with ME - also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.
