Cops close London’s Upney Tube Station after man is stabbed near platform in rush-hour commute

A LONDON Tube station has been closed after a man was stabbed close to the platform this evening.

No trains are currently stopping at Upney Underground Station while police are at the scene.

It’s understood Met Police officers were called to the station at around 7.20pm after reports a man had been stabbed in the leg.

He was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A Twitter account for the District Line informed commuters the station has been closed by police.

It said: “Upney: the station is currently closed at the request of the police. Trains are non-stopping at the station.”
