John McEnroe stuns viewers by suggesting tennis ace Novak Djokovic is struggling because of marriage woes — like love-rat golfer Tiger Woods

WIMBLEDON legend John McEnroe claimed marriage woes had hit ex-champ Novak Djokovic’s form yesterday — just like love-rat golfer Tiger Woods.

The BBC1 expert said: “The person that comes to mind with Novak is Tiger. He had issues and seemed to go off the rails.”

John McEnroe shocked Wimbledon viewers by saying Djokovic was struggling with ‘family issues’

Three-time men’s singles winner Djokovic, 30, has been off form since the turn of the year.

Outspoken McEnroe, 58, told BBC1 the Serb had admitted “off-court issues with the family”.

He added: “That’s going to throw you. If you’re distracted, you’re not the same player.

“The person that comes to mind immediately with Novak is golfer Tiger Woods.

“He had the issues with his wife, he seemed to go completely off the rails and has never been even close to the same player.

“So we’re starting to say, ‘Wait a minute, is this possible with him?’

“This isn’t a physical thing, this is a mental thing. There are definitely some issues.”

Djokovic and wife Jelena, 31 have been together since 2005 and married in 2014.

Dad-of-two Woods, 41, is said to have admitted bedding up to 120 women during his six-year marriage to Elin Nordegren, 37.

The former No1’s rankings slumped after his cheating became public in 2009. His wife divorced him in 2010.

Wimbledon No2 seed Djokovic got through to the second round yesterday after Slovak Martin Klizan quit with a calf injury while 6-3, 2-0 down on Centre Court.
